Hi I'm Jody from WritersLife.org and
today we'll be talking about how to
choose a theme for your author blog an
excellent author blog needs to have a
theme a theme will pull together your
blog posts your musings and ideas and
give them some consistency all
successful blogs have themes cooking
travel fashion just because your blog
has the sole purpose of attracting more
readers and directing them towards your
other writing it doesn't mean you
shouldn't put in the same amount of
thought and effort as those who blog for
bloggers as those who blog for blogging
sake writers need to make connections
with their readers and an author blog is
a great way of doing this of course
setting up and keeping a blog is easier
sad and than done and many writers
despite their profession find it
difficult to know what to blog about an
author can vlog about anything but it's
essential that there's an overarching
theme pulling everything together
why because readers know what they like
to read and if your posts are all over
the place and an entirely different
topics week to week then they won't know
where they stand post written and
different styles and they have no
connection to one another will confuse
the reader who stumbles upon your blog
and loves it only to be disappointed by
your next post if this happens the
likelihood is they won't bother
returning to read any more first of all
we must remember how important it is to
blog a good author blog could be a
potent tool even if you aren't trying to
reach a traditional publisher your blog
could be a formidable platform your blog
to be a formidable platform from which
you capture new readers and a great
place to direct interested parties so
they can get to know your writing and
understand you better too the most
important thing to remember when picking
a theme is that if you intend to keep
your blog going for a significant period
your theme needs to be something that
has legs you need to be able to write a
whole bunch of content under the theme
so going to niche or specific could be
dangerous so going to niche or specific
could be dangerous secondly you need to
be able to enjoy writing blog posts for
your author blog so choose a theme that
genuinely
you and gives you lots of scope to write
about what you want your blog is a
showcase for you writing so the first
place to look when choosing the theme is
what your writing is about this is much
easier for nonfiction writers who may be
able to choose a theme based on topics
from their nonfiction work for a writer
of fiction it's trickier however this
doesn't mean you can't pull an interest
from outside your writing life into your
blog to ensure you remain passionate
about it if you love gardening for
example think about ways you can use
your knowledge experience and love of
gardening to create entertaining blog
posts get creative and don't be afraid
to experiment with different themes
before deciding on one remember you are
a writer and creativity is your own
weapon and is what will draw readers to
you so use your imagination and try to
be as unique and smart as possible if
your blog has a USP you are more likely
to draw readers in at the end of the day
you need to love writing your blog posts
if you don't the likelihood is that
you'll give up or do it so
half-heartedly that and that means it
will never be a success so when picking
your theme make sure that you've
considered this above all else because
if you love what you are doing you can't
go too far wrong don't forget if you're
having a hard time writing and finishing
your book check out our free writer's

Hello is Peter here again from WritersLife.org
today quick ways to boost your

writing confidence one of the most
significant problems that many writers
face is their inner critic it's so easy
to let that pesky voice inside you tell
you you're not good enough and that you
should give up listening to it or not
being able to quieten it could have a
massive effect on your writing
confidence and color ultimately stop you
writing altogether there is nothing
wrong with having confidence in your
writing for feeling positive and excited
about it rather than shy stuttery
and hopeless so next time you think your
confidence could do with a boost why not
try the following to see if you can get
back on track in no time at all first
write regularly the more you practice
your writing and the further you
progress the more that you will feel
confident that you know what you are
doing and that you can get to where you
want to be this is by far the best way
to quickly gain confidence so even when
you don't feel like it it's important to
keep writing and next get feedback while
it can be scary to get feedback often
you'll find that people are encouraging
and helpful rather than destructive and
cruel joining a writing group or online
community where you can share your work
are great places where you can expect
honest constructive feedback that tends
to stay positive as it's coming from
your fellow writers who know just how
tough the writing game
next read positive stories so many
writers suffer from lack of confidence
and setbacks and many of those writers
are now celebrated and mega famous
authors it's so important to remember
that you could well be your own worst
critic
while you feel that your writing might
be awful you'd be surprised at the
reactions of others even if you do get
rejected remember that is just part of
being a writer and you should keep
trying because you never know when you
might get your big break next stick of
inspirational quotes sometimes just
reading something uplifting and
aspirational can help change our mindset
why not stick up some of your favorite
quotes around your workspace which will
help to remind you to stay focused on
your dream even through the toughest of
times and next write down your goals be
clear about what you want to achieve and
write this down
seeing your goals in print in front of
you will remind you of what you want and
will help give you the confidence to go
out there and get it and next start
small dreaming big you can build up to
that six-figure publishing deal but
while you are trying to boost your
confidence why not start with local
competitions small publications and even
just posting your work on light to get
feedback starting small can help you
slowly build up a belief in yourself and
your writing if you aim too high too
soon
you might feel disheartened when you
need to work your way up to get that
next learn about writing there are so
many different things you can learn
about writing so always make sure you're
learning as much as we can reading lots
and widely for inspiration too the more
you learn and the more you read the more
inspired and confident you'll feel next
submit your work getting to the point
where you feel ready to submit your work
is a massive achievement in itself who
cares if you get rejected it just means
that you're a real writer now by doing
the above you will always feel like you
are moving forward with your writing
getting closer to reaching your goals
and achieving your dreams so next time
you're feeling doubtful about your
writing abilities or whether you can do
it try working on these tips to help you
stay focused and feeling confident
throughout the writing process and don't
forget if you're struggling to write or
finish your book our free writers
toolkit can help with it you'll learn
how to overcome procrastination get
organized
stay focused find time to write and
finally get your book published to get

Hello it's Peter here again from
WritersLife.org
and today I'd like to talk about

unusual writing tips there are thousands
of pieces of writing advice out there
some useful some just don't supply some
are obvious some to obscure some of you
agree with some you don't every writer
who likes to learn and grow we'll search
for writing tips and advice however if
this is something you regularly do you
may find you come across a lot of the
same tips and ideas over and over again
write every day show don't tell
always use a professional editor and so
on these pieces of writing and mice are
great and useful for the vast majority
of writers however you may well have
taken those on board already developing
as a writer is all about trying new
things so if you're looking for some
unique and unusual writing tips to use
to refresh and refocus your writing why
not give these ago first writing about
your writing sessions if you want to
discover how you work best as a writer
than keeping a writing journal or long
book about your writing sessions can
reveal a lot observe details such as the
time and day you wrote where the writing
took place how much you write in one
space of time how you felt when you were
writing how long it has been since your
last session and everything else you
think might be useful while this might
eat into your valuable writing time it
could prove to be extremely helpful if
patterns start to emerge and give you
interesting insights into how where and
when you perform at you
best next don't think just right don't
say another word
don't even breathe just start writing
just do it right now get your computer
open that document and write without
thinking about anything else there is
loads of advice on how to start a
writing session forget it all and just
do it instead next Jamie fine your
writing set timers right while you walk
acting out your book basically try
anything that turns it into a game if
you can make your writing as fun and
challenging as possible this will
motivate you to keep going keep
challenging yourself or trying to be
your score and suddenly you'll want to
keep writing all day long and next
create emotion playlists music can be
powerful when it comes to enhancing or
releasing emotions make amazing
playlists that you could listen to when
you're angry
happy sad in love and so on play them
loudly and write down everything you're
feeling this can be a great way of
perfectly capturing emotions and then
using these in your stories next start
at the end most writers write linearly
but why not try and change it up a
little next time you come up with a
story idea challenge yourself to write
the end first and work backwards it
could turn out to be insightful and
entertaining next don't restrict
yourself in any way we alright with our
guards up a little why not try writing
without caring what anyone else thinks
right the sexy sexy you can imagine all
the most vile of brutal death write
about something that
scares you or your guilty pleasures or
secrets your weirdest darkest thoughts
you could come up with something
compelling and find this liberating
- you don't have to show it to anyone or
use it if you don't want to it's up to
you next right outside sometimes the Sun
on your face or the wind whipping your
hair around can be exhilarating and
inspiring we all have our sensible and
comforting spots - writing makes it up a
little right somewhere unusual and see
if this gives you an extra boost next
focus on criticism instead of comforting
yourself by reading the great reviews or
remembering the words of encouragement
you've been given instead concentrate on
the criticism the worst thing anyone has
ever said about your writing all the
people that don't believe you can do it
get angry and use that anger to motivate
you to prove them all wrong if you're
looking to try something a little
different with your writing why not
experiment with these tips and see how
they make you feel if you have any
unusual writing tips share them with us
one writer's life and don't forget if
you're struggling to write or finish

hello is Peter here again from WritersLife.org
and today why it pays to be
business minded if it's time you took
yourself and your writing career
seriously then it's time to get your
head out of the clouds yes it may be
beautiful up there and we're all your
most imaginative creative ideas come
from
but without dipping into the business
world from time to time it's going to be
pretty difficult to make a success of
yourself the idea of making a business
plan for your writing might make you
cringe but doing so can give you
direction cements your goals and
aspirations and give you the building
blocks needed to make them come true
now is the time to stop resisting the
idea that you can avoid the tedium of
admin of strategy and marketing and all
the other corporate things that you need
to do and be as a modern author a solid
and strategic planning place will be
your guide which demonstrates what you
hope to accomplish and how you plan to
get there as well as what it will mean
to you financially if you do being
business minded about your writing will
help you clearly visualize what you want
from your writing career it will help
you become specific rather than having a
vague aspiration to be published someday
it will help you define clear actions
prioritize those actions and understand
exactly what you need to get them done
writing a business plan will help you
gain clarity what exactly you need to do
in order to succeed it's so easy to get
distracted and waste time and energy
focusing on things that don't help us
move forward a solid business plan will
mean writers can solely focus on these
actions which will help them to reach
their goals
being business minded will also help
writers to stay ahead of the game if you
know you'll need a certain amount of
money in order to do something for
example pay a professional book designer
to design your cover you'll be aware of
that expense know when you will need to
have the money and therefore you can
plan for that expenditure well in
advance
you will also be far more organized you
can plan ahead for your book launch
integrate a marketing plan and manage
your time thus making you a far more
productive writer and this way you won't
let things get on top of you or spiral
out of control
when writing your business plan there
are certain things you should consider
first of all what is your mission
statement spend a moment thinking about
why you write and what you hope to
deliver and achieve through your writing
and what unique things you can bring to
the table next who is your target
audience be clear about who you wish to
reach through your writing and how you
intend to reach them next what is your
author brand every business has a brand
what's yours
think about your message what you want
readers to experience when they connect
with you what purpose you have or the
message you are trying to convey and
what about your goals be very clear
about what you want to achieve and make
sure that you're willing to do what it
takes to succeed goals should be
actionable and measurable so bear this
in mind when you are thinking of yours
next timing if applicable you should be
able to come up with a comprehensive
schedule to stick to include everything
from the number of words you will write
in a day
when to release your book - how he will
manage your social media accounts next
competitor research who are your main
competitors find novelists authors and
influence who you can identify and see
what they're doing how are they engaging
with their readers finances can you
afford to invest the money needed for
your writing business to be successful
be specific with your costs and if
necessary save the money you need before
you put your business plan into action
being business minded and creating a
solid business plan for your writing can
really pay off it may not be a favorite
task but remember your business plan can
be developed over time it may feel like
a little overwhelming at first but even
getting down the basics will help you
feel more clear and more confident ready
and able to achieve what you have set
out to achieve and don't forget if
you're struggling to write or finish
your book our free writers toolkit can
help with it you'll learn how to
overcome procrastination get organized

hello there is Peter here again from
WritersLife.org and today why do so many
books fail the majority of books that
are written are hardly read by anybody
this may seem a little depressing but it
is the unfortunate truth think of all
the millions of books that are out there
how many of them have been properly
published and marketed and have been
read by more than a handful of people of
course describing a book as a failure
all depends on how you measure success
you may not write for fame and fortune
you may not even be trying to make a
living out of your book for some authors
seeing their book for sale on Amazon is
achievement enough and that's wonderful
however for many others they want to see
their book become a success they want a
publisher or agent or at the very least
for it to become popular through
self-publishing
so that they can feel dedicating all
that time and energy to writing was
worthwhile so why is it that so many
books fail let's take a look at the main
reasons first of all they don't get
finished
finishing a book is an astonishing
achievement and one that every author
who's managed it should pat themselves
on the back for so many people begin to
write a book or want to but never manage
to get to the end be thankful that you
did something so many other people were
unable to do next they stay hidden there
are a vast number of manuscripts out
there which stay under the radar the
author finishes and thinks now what the
idea of spending time and money sending
to publishers and agents or
self-publishing is rather overwhelming
to the novice writer so even many
completed books go no further
next they don't get sent to the right
people
if you don't research the publishers
you're sending your book to more often
than not you'll send it to the wrong
person someone who has no interest in
the genre for example and it will get
rejected without so much as a second
thought always do your research and make
sure that you know exactly the right
person and publishing house to send your
manuscript to this way you'll give your
book the best chance of success and next
they aren't submitted correctly if you
don't follow submission guidelines to a
tee then your book may get rejected
without even being read don't go to all
the efforts of sending your booking
unless you are going to make sure you've
read the submission guidelines
thoroughly and are willing to follow
them precisely next they haven't been
written for anyone does your book have a
target audience if not who were you
going to market it to without having a
type of reader in mind books often fail
as instead of appealing to everyone they
don't really appeal to anyone and next
they aren't unique boring unoriginal
cliched stories have no place in the
modern book marketplace readers are
hungry for books that surprise and
excite them make sure your story does
just that
next they are talk to a publishable
standard if your book is full of
spelling mistakes and errors then you
can't expect to be taken seriously by an
agent or publisher have a professional
editor look over your book and if you
are self-publishing
make sure you have a proper cover design
next they just plain unlucky
unfortunately if you're going to try and
get your book published you're up
against insanely soft competition lots
of publishers won't give new authors the
time of day
and if they do we'll only take two or
three new books in a year and get sent
thousands of manuscripts each month even
brilliant authors with something truly
unique to say can easily get overlooked
in the end all you can do is keep trying
believe in yourself and hope that you'll
get lucky
remember don't give up it's often those
who keep persevering that end up
becoming a success and don't forget if
you're struggling to write or finish
your book our free writers toolkit can
help with it you'll learn how to
overcome procrastination get organized
stay focused
find time to write and finally get your
book published to get access now while
it's still available simply go to

okay that's it for now be sure to give
this a thumbs up and don't forget to

Hello there it's Peter here again from
WritersLife.org and today five topics for
your author blog finding good topics for
your author blog can sometimes be a bit
of a struggle a great block can be an
excellent platform for authors to find
new fans and generate interest in their
work but you need to continue to produce
fun engaging insightful and entertaining
posts to encourage readers to keep
coming back for more
if you write about anything you want to
in your also blog but it's good to
remember that people will be interested
in finding out more about your
characters your work and you as a writer
if you can create posts that cover these
topics your readers will feel as though
they know you well and your writing
better and that's what will hopefully
motivate them to buy your book so what
are some great topics to write about
here of five to get you started first of
all where you find your inspiration what
inspires an author is fascinating to
both fellow writers and non writers
alike for those who can't imagine
writing a book themselves it's so
interesting to hear where a person might
find the inspiration and motivation to
come up with their stories of your
writing comrades it's great to get some
tips if they are feeling a little
creatively uninspired next how you do
your research
a well researched book is going to be
all the better for it share with your
fellow readers and follow writers how
you begin to research your book what
methods do you use how do you organize
it if you come across anything
particularly interesting an unusual fact
for example share this with your readers
to next character interviews there's not
much you can do with your characters so
why not interview them individually as
if they were famous so your readers can
get to know them if they have any unique

Hi I'm Jody from WritersLife.org
and today we'll be talking about how to
stop your blog from becoming boring we
all know that a great author blog can do
wonders when it comes to boosting your
profile as an author but just because we
love to write books doesn't mean that
writing blog posts will come naturally
to us writing and maintaining an
impressive blog is hard work and for
many writers it can be difficult to come
up with fresh and exciting new material
for their blog posts as well as trying
to concentrate on their book
however if writers can juggle the two
the rewards can be invaluable but a
boring blog can do your career worse
damage than not writing one at all so
how do you make sure that your blog
posts are made fresh and interesting and
say something your readers want to hear
let us first discuss what makes blog
posts boring in the first place all
facts but no story
people love facts facts are fascinating
after all but a list of cold hard facts
will leave your readers disengaged be
playful have a buildup tell a story to
deliver the most significant impact too
egocentric if your blog post is all
about you it will quickly bore your
readers to tears we're not saying you
aren't super interesting but you need to
mix in more observational or helpful
pieces otherwise you'll turn your
readers off no personality don't be
afraid to reveal your personality
through your posts share your opinions
and show who you are a blog without
personality doesn't allow readers to
connect with the voice behind the posts
and they'll want to get to know you so
let them in no impact don't write about
nothing actually consider what will make
an impact what will get your readers to
sit up and take notice
create a buzz stir people into action
make your blog count for something
you'll find it so much more fun to write
if you do misjudging your audience what
some people may find boring others may
find fascinating so it's crucial that
you figure out who your target audience
is and then go on to work at creating
blog posts that are interesting for them
your blog posts don't have to be
universally fascinating
but if you don't work out who they're
for chances are they'll fall on deaf
ears so how can you make sure to never
write a boring post again if you can be
funny be funny there's nothing quite as
appealing as making someone laugh you
don't have to stuff your blogpost with
knock-knock jokes but try to inject some
wit some humor some sarcasm and you'll
soon find readers clamoring you for more
keep them hooked until the end it's all
well and good having a punchy headline
and a smart opening paragraph but if
your post is all style and no substance
your readers will call you out make sure
you give your readers reasons to read it
all the way through the end is where
you'll encourage them to like or share
your post so they need to get there if
they're going to make an impact be
emotive we're not saying readers need to
finish reading your blog posts and
floods of tears but trying to conjure up
a picture and play on their emotions is
a good thing make it personal tell a
story make sure you are at least trying
to be effecting make sure you seduce
your reader flatter them lure them in
make them buy into what you have to say
for the long term so they keep coming
back for more so there you have it some
quick tips to ensure you never write a
dull post again how do you come up with
material for your author blogs share
your ideas with us down below and don't

Hello its Peter here again from Writer's
life and today how to sell yourself as a
writer promoting yourself as an author
is not always easy not only can the
number of ways and different avenues you
are able to take seems somewhat
overwhelming but the idea of actually
trying to convince other people that
your writing is worth paying attention
to when you are not even sure yourself
can feel particularly daunting we all
know that selling books is hard work and
if you don't have a big publisher behind
you or a massive budget for marketing
you're going to have to do the lion's
share of the work yourself promoting
your work is hugely important you can't
just post your book on Amazon and
somehow hope that people will read it
the market is thoroughly saturated and
there are now more books than there are
readers to read them learning how best
to sell yourself as a writer is the only
way you can hope to stand a chance so
what are the things you can do to help
boost your author profile and get your
book noticed let's take a look first get
social media savvy nowadays no matter
how much we might try to resist it
social media is key to building a
platform reputation and a fan base open
several social media accounts to tap
into different niches and interests and
find different followers
have a great and useful awesome website
having a good awesome website is
essential and a stable platform where
you could promote your book
however it's essential to make your
author website not only unique exciting
and eye catching but also useful to make
it easy to navigate
make it easy for fans to buy your book
if you don't do this you might attract
visitors but not boost your book sales
and that's kind of missing the point
isn't it next write a captivating bio
and introduction to your book spend time
and make a real effort to create an
author bio that say something about you
that gives the reader a picture of who
you are and what you're all about the
same goes for your book blurb this is
the one chance you have to get potential
customers interested in what you're
selling so make it the best thing that
you've ever written
next get reviews keep making an effort
to get reviews for your book the more
positive reviews you have the more
popular you'll seem and the more new
readers will trust that if they buy your
book they'll be getting a good read blog
your heart out blogging is a great way
to promote yourself as an author keeping
a blog up to date takes time and effort
and needs promotion in itself however
the long-term rewards of a successful
blog make it so worthwhile
every single time you create a new post
you're boosting your search engine
visibility and reaching potential new
fans next behave like a professional
promoting yourself can be tedious
disappointing and frustrating
at times but ranting and raving moaning
and driving or giving up before you've
given it your all won't help you or your
book always stay calm and professional
and remember that perseverance is key
selling yourself as a writer may not
come naturally but it's an essential
part of any writers road to success so
follow these tips and start selling
yourself today and don't forget if
you're struggling to write or finish
your book our three writers toolkit can
help with it you'll learn how to
overcome procrastination get organized
stay focused find time to write and
finally get your book published to get
access now while it's still available

Hello there is Peter here again from
Writer's life and today we asked the
question does writing matter anymore
anyone with a Facebook account will
notice that more and more videos have
been popping up on their newsfeed
newspaper subscriptions are steadily
declining and Yugi continues to add
viewer numbers all this signals our
shift from the written word to the
spoken word even in school the last
bastion of writing teachers are
assigning video making instead of essay
writing the logic is that some writing
has to have been done prior to the words
being spoken but is it really the same
as written assignment and yet despite
the prevalence of video / letters people
still gravitate towards writing and for
those wondering if writing matters
anymore I would argue that yes it does
writing is about both the writer and the
reader while the goal of writing can be
for someone to read it and hopefully
appreciate it another goal of writing
can be of a more personal nature writing
involves taking our thoughts organizing
them and setting them down it is a
complex process that often does not get
easier the more it's practiced writing
is often very personal and not meant for
anyone else's eyes the diary is a
perfect example of this how many
children crafted their thoughts into
notebooks and then skillfully hid them
from prying eyes
writing matters because it gives a
silent voice to the thoughts hopes and
fears that we all have without writing
our thoughts can remain jumbled without
writing our hopes can remain unfulfilled
without writing our fears can remain
found
rising also matters when it becomes
public instead of private writing is
different than video in that it is much
easier to reread stop or even skip ahead
yes video has these functions too but it
takes effort and sometimes that effort
can impede our actions with writing the
reader is in charge of the pace writing
therefore Foster's our relationship
between the words and the reader
something that can be truly intimate so
writing still matters we may live in the
digital age but there's still a place
for writing and as long as writers
continue their craft whether private or
public writing will continue to matter
and don't forget if he's struggling to
write or finish your book our free
writers toolkit can help with it
you'll learn how to overcome
procrastination and get organized stay
focused

book published to get access now while

Hello there Peter here again from
Writer's life and today how to feed your
creative self creativity is an essential
part of being a writer but let's face is
sometimes when we try to write it seems
as if our creative souls have packed up
and gone on a little vacation without
letting us know creativity is a strange
thing even in the most creative and
inspiring writers it seems to come and
go too sometimes flow steadily or come
gushing forth like others to trickle
teasingly and just as often to dry up
altogether the problem is this really
does not work well for us writers we
would much prefer our creativity to be a
constant and powerful light burning
within us or an endless well always
available for us to tap into the good
news is that there are things that we
can do in order to give our creativity a
boost and help us find it again when we
feel us that we've lost it so next time
you're feeling creatively weak don't
despair try these ten different ways to
feed your creative self first free your
mind don't put too much pressure on
yourself the more you try to become
creative the harder it may be try free
writing or doing mind maps or word
association there are loads of writing
exercises that can help free your mind
and tap into your creativity why not
give them a try next explore the world
there's a big wide world out there so
don't stay cooped up and hunched up over
your desk all day it could be as big as
booking your traveling adventure or as
small as going for a walk but getting
out there and interacting with
around you will inspire you for certain
next do something exhilarating sometimes
you need to shake up your boring old
routine and do something that pushes you
challenges you or even scares you a
little bit doing this will release
endorphins make you feel powerful and
proud and boost your creativity no end
the new experience could even lead to a
whole new story idea next show off your
talents
sometimes compliments will get you
everywhere a lack of creativity can mean
you start questioning your ability and
talents and mean that you lose
confidence in your writing abilities
share your work with your biggest fan
get some positive feedback and you'll
soon start to feel differently next
listen to music music can have a
profound effect on our mood so next time
you're feeling creatively challenged put
on a motivating playlist listen to
something beautiful or search for
inspiring playlists to keep you
motivated next read something amazing we
all get ideas and inspiration from other
writers
so keep devouring every book you can get
your hands on and you'll soon find
something sticks with you and helps you
to develop a new idea in your own world
next have a plan
while you might think planning goes
against the idea of being creative a
well researched and thought out plan can
actually be very beneficial doing so
will help you to rest assured that your
story will work out and stop you from
getting stuck halfway through next take
a break from your laptop sometimes doing
things the old-fashioned way is best try
writing using paper and a pencil instead
of typing directly onto your laptop it
might take longer but there is something
creative and relaxing in the process do
you think next creates an inspiring
writing space creating your perfect
writing space can really work wonders
when it comes to boosting your
creativity you might want something
carve minimum or a bustling space where
the walls are crammed with pictures
timelines and notes whatever works for
you make sure you have a comfy place to
sit and work though being uncomfortable
can be really distracting and can
diminish your creativity and take you
away from the joy of writing altogether
next don't give up even when you feel as
though your creativity will never return
try to keep writing and rest assured
that it will the more you write the
quicker you will find your creative self
again so just keep going however itself
boosting and channeling your creativity
can be challenging at times but if you
keep practicing and use the methods
we've already mentioned you'll find it
comes much easier helping you to become
a more productive and inspired writer as
a result and don't forget if you're
struggling to write or finish your book
our free writers toolkit can help with
it you'll learn how to overcome
procrastination get organized
stay focused find time to

Hi I'm Jody from WritersLife.org and
today we'll be talking about
if rejection is really all that bad
we're all told that as writers rejection
is one of the toughest parts of the job
there are countless pieces of advice on
how to cope with rejection how to pick
up the pieces and move on but is that
necessary rejection doesn't have to be
something that knocks us down and takes
time to get over in fact it really isn't
all that bad at all and here's why
rejection is inevitable for writers its
death taxes and rejection letters every
writer gets rejected it's just going to
happen so there's no point in hoping
that somehow it won't happen to you that
you'll be one of those lucky writers who
lands a huge publishing deal straight
away you won't the rejection will come
so what is the point of getting upset
about something so utterly inevitable
save your energy and emotion for
something more worthwhile rejection is
valuable
once you have cheerfully accepted the
fact that you will get rejected why not
then turn your attention to how you
might use it to your advantage
sometimes the rejection letters come
with feedback these are as valuable as
gold so go back over your manuscript
your cover and your synopsis and think
about how you can make improvements to
give yourself a better chance of success
next time rejection is never personal
remember when an editor decides to
reject your work they aren't doing it
because they have some long-standing
vendetta against you it's only business
stay professional and don't immediately
see them as your mortal enemy rejection
doesn't always count some rejections
don't mean anything go back and think
about whether really realistically your
book ever stood a chance there sometimes
we all are guilty of sending our work
off to publishers that aren't suitable
these rejections don't count ignore them
and put more effort into your research
next time rejection is subjective so
there may be certain trends or
algorithms editors are using to decide
whether your book will appeal to the
masses
but at the end of the day it's still
going to be down to the personal taste
you also can never be sure of the
circumstances when your book reaches the
top of the pile they may have read two
other promising and similar stories that
day they might be in a particularly bad
mood they may have forgotten to eat
breakfast and be distracted by their
hunger any number of factors can
influence their decision and apart from
writing the best book you can and giving
the best pitch you can give they are
pretty much entirely out of your control
rejection isn't that bad we're often
told that rejection is crushing and
soul-destroying and heartbreaking it's
all pretty dramatic it's all too easy to
be influenced by this
to get sucked in but really what's the
points getting overly upset about
rejection is a waste of our precious
time so have some more respect for
yourself and your work and accept
rejection for what it is an opinion and
that's all we'd all prefer to get a
positive response over a rejection
however if we can be a bit more
practical about it and face the fact
that it's going to happen stead of
having what seems to be the widely
accepted reaction of immediately turning
into a wailing wreck and claiming we'll
never write again we could instead
accept it be a bit thicker skinned and
you may just be able to use it to make
you a better writer if you're having a

Hello it's Peter here again from Writer's
life today how to bounce back from
failure
at one point in your life is inevitable
you will encounter a failure some people
that failure define the rest of their
life I don't want to see you become
someone who lets failure get in the way
of achieving your desired success too
many people let one failure stop them
from continuing on I want you to
understand that everyone who has ever
become successful has had to endure
failure at some points in their life and
you will be no different except failure
for everything that he sees you can look
at failure and think you're a failure or
you can look at failure and realize you
can learn from it and improve upon
yourself think back to your first
relationship wouldn't you have told it a
failure but you took what you learned
into the next relationship succeeding in
life is learning as much from your
failures and adapting now that you've
experienced your first failure in life
it's time you learn how to bounce back
from it you'll want to write everything
that caused your failure and make sure
you don't hold yourself back once you
have your list written down go back
through it and think to yourself where
you could have improved you'll want to
know where you failed so you can make
sure that it never happens again
after you've learned from your initial
failure it's time you start to put
yourself back out there you'll never
succeed if you keep getting hung up on
your past failures what's in the past is
in the past and you can only learn from
it don't hold on to your failure for too
long because it will become your
identity and that's not what we want to
see start working on your next business
or your next book implement the areas
where you previously had failed it's
only a matter of time before you succeed
and don't forget if he's struggling to
write or finish your book our free

learn how to overcome procrastination
yet organized stay focused find time to
write and finally get your book

Hi I'm Jody from WritersLife.org and
today we'll be talking about why
comparing yourself to other Writers is
pointless it's so easy for riders to get
caught up in comparing themselves to
others they read something that is so
good they feel it impossible for them to
reach the same standard now here's some
of the previously unpublished authors
landing a six-figure book publishing
deal and wonder if it'll ever happen to
them I hear about a writer who's
self-published and their book took off
and made millions and millions of
dollars they feel hopeless and jealous
and wonder if they should even bother
trying comparing yourselves to others is
never a good idea it's unlikely to make
you feel good about your writing you are
your own worst critic after all and you
aren't likely to be able to rationally
or objectively reason as to why so and
so happen to that writer and it hasn't
happened to you here's why comparing
yourself to others is pointless it won't
make you any better by all means read as
many brilliant books as you can get your
hands on
but don't finish that book and
immediately burn your own manuscript and
a fit of desperate despair comparing
yourself negatively to writers you love
won't make your writing any better
instead why not be inspired and
influenced by them and just appreciate
how much you enjoyed their work there's
no comparison between your final draft
and a traditionally published novel even
if you have done all the right things
your final draft isn't going to hold a
candle to traditionally published books
that you find in the bookstore those
books have had teams of professional
people to edit rewrite shape design and
market them before they even hit the
shelves your word document that you've
read over and over just isn't going to
look very good in comparison so don't
bother it's not fair for you or your
work your voice is entirely unique and
so it should be the beautiful thing
about being a writer is that you have
your own unique writing voice your own
particular way of looking at the world
and expressing what you want to say
don't let anyone take that away from you
your book may not sound anything like
that bestseller but so what that doesn't
mean it is not brilliant and it's
right no one likes a copycat next time
you compare yourself to the other
writers ask yourself this what are you
going to do about it
either you can try and imitate them or
you can just accept that every writer is
different and has their own story to
tell and Way of telling it if you try to
do the farmer you'll end up just being a
slightly worse version of someone else
and who wants to be that you only see
their result not their struggle no
matter how easily fame and fortune seems
to come to others the likelihood is that
there was a lot of hard work going on
behind the scenes before they got to
where they are sure there might be a
lucky few for which success seems to
land on their lap but for the masses
it's all about keeping your nose to the
grindstone so stop comparing yourself to
others and get back to it it's not your
time yes if you find yourself getting
disheartened remember your time could be
right around the corner but the only
person that can make it happen is you
when it comes to writing you have to be
your own biggest fan so stop telling
yourself you aren't good when compared
to other writers tell yourself you're
just as good or even better when it
comes to writing the best thing to do is
focus on yourself set your own goals and
celebrate your success comparing
yourself to others will only distract
you from what you need to do so don't
let what other people are doing get you
off track just keep concentrating on
what you want and you'll get there in

Hello its Peter here again from Writer's
life this time why you need to start
embracing the journey it's easy to get
caught up in the allure of success
especially with social media you go
online and everywhere you look someone
is successful it can become a little
intimidating but more than that you
start to crave success without realising
the process of what it takes to become
successful
remember no one ever said that becoming
successful was going to be easy success
is a journey not a sprint you can
continue to wish for it overnight and if
you get it it's not going to be
sustained you can look at the people who
win the lottery and the majority of them
go broke because they didn't work for
their success when you achieve success
it's going to be because you put in the
hard work and that it wasn't simply
given to you hard work means to grind it
out day in and day out for many years
most overnight successes are the
cultivation of work over many years
start to embrace the journey the quicker
you realize success doesn't come easy
the quicker you can get back to the
grind it's not easy nor will it ever be
easy I don't want you thinking that
success is a walking apart when in fact
it's the complete
opposite look at anyone who's become
successful in business or in rising they
didn't become successful rights away
experience patience and Trust the
process each day you wake up make sure
your further ahead than you were the day
before success is doing the little
things each day that'll help you to get
where you want to go success isn't going
to be sexy it's doing the thing you
don't want to do take in the journey for
everything that it's worth don't rush
the process because everything you want
to happen will happen in time if you
keep at it and don't forget if he's
struggling to write or finish your book

Hello there its Peter here again from
Writer's Life and today ways you might be
self sabotaging your writing career one
thing many writers have in common is
their ability to self-sabotage writers
can often be so unfairly negative about
themselves and their work it is as if
they are their own worst enemy bar the
obvious negative effect this has on once
self-esteem this self-sabotage also
naturally has an effect on a writer's
ability to succeed having put so much
time energy and care into your work
doesn't it seems something of a shame if
you are the one who gets in the way of
your own success be open to the
possibility of actually being a
successful writer is so important it's
not just about look or even about talent
it's also about having a positive
mindset and the determination to keep
going
even when the chips are down so what are
the signs to look out for which may
suggest you are sabotaging your writing
career here are some of the most common
and first you've fallen out of love with
writing gone are the days where you felt
excited and elated
every time you sat down to write lately
it feels so much more forced your
stories like the passion and flow of
earlier times and you keep getting
distracted or finding any excuse to
leave your work and go and do something
else
if this sounds like you you need to
think about what might be causing you to
feel this way if you can understand the
cause as to why your writing doesn't
fulfill you as it used to you can tackle
it head-on make a list of all the things
you love about writing and all the
obstacles that stop you from doing it or
enjoy it as you should focus on what
makes you happy and don't worry about
the rest and next
you've lost confidence in your ability
to write if you started to feel negative
about your writing ability and
everything you write seems terrible this
negativity is bound to have an impact on
the quality of your writing overall
perhaps it's time to reassess how you
critique your work are you too hard on
yourself or perhaps you need to go back
to basics and start again producing a
great piece of writing is a slow and
laird process but it's essential that
you remain confident in your ability to
achieve what you want to achieve next
you're suffering from the dreaded
writer's block if you simply can't find
any inspiration and every time you sit
down to write your mind goes blank
there could be an underlying reason that
has locked you in a downward spiral and
you need to get yourself out of it
before your career starts to suffer it's
hard to be creative when you are feeling
stressed or anxious so try to find ways
to clear your mind and relax so that you
have the necessary freedom to write find
inspiration by joining a writing group
apps taking up a new hobby maybe
traveling or just experimenting with
your writing to see if
it in a new direction reinvigorates you
once more and next when you do get some
interest you worry too much if an agent
or publisher shows interest in your book
it's important to accept this as an
awesome compliment some writers end up
self sabotaging by immediately finding
the enormity of finishing their book or
making suggested revisions too
overwhelming they feel like an impostor
becomes suspicious and uncertain and
pest to the agent or publisher so much
that eventually the deal falls through
remember if you do get interest you are
in a considerable minority it's okay to
be nervous but try to be calm and
professional and stay confident in your
ability to get the job done
next you finish your work and never send
it off a classic sign of writer
self-sabotage is that dusty old
manuscript that sits shrouded in shame
at the bottom of a desk drawer or those
many drafty emails to agents and
publishers that have been sitting ready
to go for months if you have finished
your work spent a sensible amount of
time and focus editing it and crafted a
solid submission later it's time to let
it go you are probably never going to
feel your work is perfect or good enough
to submit but if you want to stand a
chance there has to be a point where you
let it go if yourself sabotaging your
writing career it's time to figure out
why once you start giving it some
thought the reasons should become pretty
clear so just listen to yourself your
instincts and try to nip it in the bud
as soon as possible and don't forget if
you're struggling to write or finish
your book our free writers toolkit can
help with it you'll find out how to
overcome procrastination get organized
stay focused find time to
right and finally get your book
published to get access to it now while
it's still available simply go to

to okay that's it for now

Hello there its Peter here again from
Writers Life and today how to write blog
posts people will read we all know how
invaluable writing a blog can be a blog
is a fantastic platform from which you
can showcase your work reach out to new
audiences and develop your fan base a
great blog gives readers insight into
what your writing might be like as well
as more of a picture as to what you are
why as a writer keeping a regular blog
keeps your writing so you'll never get
rusty and the best blogs can even make
money too of course for many writers the
idea of writing a blog can seem daunting
and you understandably don't want to go
to all that time and effort to write one
if no one is going to read what you've
written so how do you write a blog post
that will capture people's attention one
that people will be able to find and
we'll go on to share with others first
research your audience not everyone
likes to read the same thing so when you
write a blog post you need to think
about who you are writing it for
research your audience then craft
something you know they'll have
interesting knowing your audience will
help when it comes to promoting your
blog - and next answer questions
entertain provide value and solve
problems
good blogs are good because they are
helpful they teach people something they
answer questions they've been dying to
know the answers to
they make them laugh or tell a story
which captures their attention and
imagination when you write your blog put
yourself in the
position of the reader what do they want
to know what would make them sit up and
pay attention and next say something
different or if you can't at least say
better there is so much content out
there so if you're going to write a blog
you need to make your stand out from the
crowd
spend time thinking about topics you'd
like to cover and how you could take an
unusual slant on them all right from a
different point of view
if you can't find a unique topic to
write about at least make your post the
best post on that topic then there is a
next make it readable if you want your
blog post to be read by lots of people
don't show off by making it too smart
avoid super complicated subjects where
lots of prior knowledge is needed to
understand what you're talking about
that's not to say you should make it fun
and exciting just don't exclude or
four-straight your readers by trying too
hard
simplicity is key and next promotion
once you've written and publish your
blog post
don't just let it sit there you need to
tell people you've written it share it
on social media and consider boosting it
via your other social media channels too
yes the blogging is a great way to make
a name for yourself and will expose you
to ready-made audiences so find some
well established blogs that fit your
style and cover the same sorts of things
and get in touch to see if you can blog
for them as a guest blogger next make it
easy to share don't forget to encourage
your readers to share your posts and
make it easy for them to do so if
they've enjoyed it they'll be happy to
promote it for you these tips will help
you to craft engaging exciting and
blog posts that will be seen read and
shared so next time you are writing a
blog post follow these tips to get the
most out of it and make your hard work
worthwhile and don't forget if it's
struggling to write or finish your book
our free writers toolkit can help with
it you'll find out how to overcome
procrastination yet organize stay
focused find time to write and finally
get your book published to get access
